An Overview of MPLS Network Service
Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) Private Network Transport (PNT) Service is a network-based IP VPN solution that uses MPLS technology to provide secure communications over an IP backbone network. MPLS PNT Service provides an economical and flexible alternative to private line connectivity or site-to-site tunnels and is easier to manage and maintain. MPLS Network diagram:

Because this service is an MPLS network-based IP VPN, you avoid buying tunneling equipment or permanent virtual circuits (PVCs). The network performs the VPN segregation for you.
MPLS PNT, which is an option of our Managed Internet Service, features access using fractional/full T1, fractional/full T3, OC3, OC12, and OC48. Available speeds range from 56 Kbps to 2.5 Gbps (excluding 64 Kbps and 1.024 Gbps), depending on the network infrastructure.
You'll benefit from our unmatched experience and expertise in MPLS and our continual network investments and upgrades.
MPLS segregates your VPN traffic from the other traffic on the IP backbone by labeling your data packets. To guide your data through the IP backbone to its predetermined destination, the network edge router assigns a unique VPN label to each packet. At its destination, the edge router removes the label to present the data in its original form. This labeling process isolates your data, protecting it from access outside your pre-defined VPN. The technology conforms to the IETF RFC 2547 industry standards.
MPLS serves as a key component of our networking portfolio, a comprehensive suite of services designed to address a broad range of enterprise communication needs. Our approach to delivering services improves your networking experience by helping to design, deploy, manage and evolve with your complex networking requirements. Dependent upon your unique requirements and objectives, MPLS service may well serve a primary role in your enterprise’s network solution.
